I've put this sight on two 1911s so far. Highly visible night or day. Easy fit on a Springfield Armory, took a bit of fitting on a Tisas. Worked well with the stock rear sights; a Novak style on the SA and an LPA adjustable on the Tisas.
If you have a 1911 with Novak dovetail, go for it.

Not only a great product, but great customer service. Had the site professionally installed by gunsmith.
Very nice sight and now it improved my shooting drastically.I recomend this sight for quick on target response.

Have yet to find a gunsmith to install the front sight, however, I believe the contrasting orange ring surrounding the tritium center will be a significant help in quick sight alignment and the tritium a great assist in a low light point and shoot situation. Looking forward to the installation.
Cons:
- A little more expensive than other front sights

This night sight replaced an older tritium filled night sight. It's amazing how much easier it was for sight alignment while shooting at the range. My original sight never gave me the ease and comfort this sight did while target shooting. Accuracy increased and was achieved more easily.

For someone like me who's eyesight is starting to see fuzzy gun sights, I scored big time with the front orange night sight I had installed on my Springfield TRP. Even the traditional night sights seem to disappear during daylight shooting sessions. I highly recommend the shooting public give this one a try.
Pros:
- Highly visible during day and night time shooting at the gun range.

A good aid for old eyes. At age 77, my eyesight is not what it used to be even with eyeglasses. The Trijicon HD Night Sight (Orange) enables me to more quickly pick up the front sight in dim lighting.

I have purchased 2 sets of these for my Sig 226 and Glock 19. They are absolutely the best night sights I have used. Extremely fast acquisition. The set I purchased for my Springfield TRP did not fit the front Novak cut, so I had to return them. I spoke to a rep at Trijicon, and they expect to be making these for the Springfield 1911 in the next 10 -12 months. I will definitely buy them from Optics Planet when they are released.

Just finished changing over the sights on #3 of 4 1911's in an effort to make them all the same. They all will be wearing these sights. The 1st gun, a Rock Island 9mm 1911, I used a full set and p.o.a. p.o.i. was perfect. Bought a set for my Springfield MC Operator, shot WAY too low. Trijicon had me send them the slide, they corrected it. Buying individual front and rear sights here at Optics Planet is more expensive than buying by the set, but, being able to buy different height front sights makes it worth it. Now, if we could only get Trijicon to make slightly different height rear sights for more fine tuning.
I tried a set of TruGlo TFX Pro sights thinking the small fiber optic tube would give me a finer aim in daylight, the rear wasn't even close to the correct size and shape to fit a Novak cut slide, more wrong than just the dovetail, and worse, Truglo customer service refused to even sell me an individual rear sight from their Tritium Pro line.
Stick with Trijicon, and Optics Planet.
Cons:
- sharp edges on front of rear sight, not a fine aim point for small targets
Best Used for:
- defense, idpa and uspsa competition

Installed these on the Kimber pro carry HD. Brought my reaction time up considerably. These are absolutely fantastic for day time low light Brite light shooting. Night sights not as bright as those factory sites from Kimber, but the trade-off for me is well worth it
